Chiang Mai orchid butterflies
Another attraction of the orchid farms around Chiang Mai is their butterfly enclosures, but to be honest the one I visited was quite disappointing, with only a few varieties to be found. The silver lining was that when I developed my photos I found one that really struck me; I think it’s one of my favourite photographs so far: the pale brown background really suits the central butterfly, which is nice and clear.

I was particularly happy with another image from this batch: the bright red flower is nicely lit but it’s the background that makes the scene for me, really capturing the essence of “jungle”:

Hi Kendall,
That would look great on a canvas print! I’d hang it on the wall.
Cheers

I might just do that. I had some large canvas prints made two years ago and they look great on the wall, but it’s about time for some fresh ones.
