Chiang Mai orchid butterflies
Sunday, November 20th, 2011Another attraction of the orchid farms around Chiang Mai is their butterfly enclosures, but to be honest the one I visited was quite disappointing, with only a few varieties to be found. The silver lining was that when I developed my photos I found one that really struck me; I think it’s one of my favourite photographs so far: the pale brown background really suits the central butterfly, which is nice and clear.

I was particularly happy with another image from this batch: the bright red flower is nicely lit but it’s the background that makes the scene for me, really capturing the essence of “jungle”:
